If you made a Spirit Sideline Squad (JV or Varsity, Football or Basketball),
you are invited to try out of our competitive Spirit Sideline Squad,
known as the Game Day Squad.
Season: We will travel to 1-2 local invitationals (Saturdays in November) as well as
the GHSA State Game Day Cheerleading Championship in December.
Summer: Mandatory Choreography: June 12th & 13th
Practices: June 11th & July 23rd, July 31st
Practices: TWICE a week (Wed./Thurs.) during the school year from August - October;
There will be added days in November to prepare for State.
IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO THIS SCHEDULE,
GAME DAY SQUAD IS NOT FOR YOU,
YOU DO NOT NEED TO TRY OUT.
*Please heavily consider your participation in other school sports, activities, club sports,
All-star cheer, work, etc. before you commit.

How does the game day competition work?
Preliminary Rounds (all performed continuous in the order below)
Each section has it's own scoresheet and teams are comparatively scored; meaning teams' performances are compared to each other's to determine scoring.

Band Chant
* 1 minute time limit.
* Must use recorded marching band music. * No stunting or tumbling allowed. |
Crowd-Leading
* 1 minute time limit.
* No music allowed. * Limited Stunting & tumbling allowed. * Engaging the crowd in appropriate call-response cheer for maximum feedback. |
Fight Song
* 1 minute time limit.
* Must use recorded marching band Fight Song. * Limited Stunting & tumbling within a consecutive repetition. |
Final Round
If teams advance from preliminary rounds, they compete in the FINAL round.
This final round has a completely new scoresheet and all scoring from preliminary rounds is discarded. The final round is also comparatively scored.
