If you made a Spirit Sideline Squad (JV or Varsity, Football or Basketball),
you are invited to try out for our competitive Spirit Sideline Squad,
known as the Game Day Squad.
SEASON: We will travel to 1-2 invitationals (Saturday November 21st & December 5th) as well as
the GHSA State Game Day Cheerleading Championship December 9th - 11th.
SUMMER: Mandatory Choreography: June 4th & 5th, 2026
Practices: Week of Preplanning in July 27th - 31st, 2026 (Days/Times TBA)
PRACTICES: ONCE a week (Wed. 3-5PM) during the school year from August - October;
We move to TWICE a week after Fall Break (Tues. & Wed.) and then
DAILY (Mon.-Fri.) the week prior to Thanksgiving and leading into the State Championship.
IF YOU CANNOT COMMIT TO THE SCHEDULE ABOVE,
GAME DAY SQUAD IS NOT FOR YOU,
YOU DO NOT NEED TO TRY OUT.
*Please heavily consider your academic load, and participation in other school sports, activities, club sports,
All-star cheer, work, etc. before you commit. LOOK at the dates!
Additional attendance protocols will be put in place for the Game Day Squad to ensure all athletes keep their commitment. You CAN & WILL BE PULLED from the mat if you cannot make the commitment.
Also as noted in the WGHS Tryout Packet, there is ~$500 cost added Team cost should you make the Game Day Squad, please be sure to speak with your parents about the additional costs before you try out.
